August Staff Spotlight: Dustin
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your role here at the DAHLC: I’ve been married to my wife, Jessica, for 10 years and have 3 absolutely amazing little human beings; Brynlee (8), Bryar (6) and Rydlee (22 months). I’ve been at Mayo Clinic for almost 15 years in a few different positions. I am currently one of the managers at the DAHLC and am responsible for daily operations of the facility.
What is something you have done but will never do again? About 25 or so years ago, my hometown area was hit by a tornado. My best friend’s grandpa owned an insurance company and we went out in a little airplane to take aerial photos of damage. Circling down to get pictures and such didn’t make for the most comfortable ride for me. Let’s just say I won’t ever ride in a small airplane again!
What is your ideal way to spend your weekends? Relaxing, playing with my kids, golfing, hanging with friends/family.
What three words would your friends use to describe you? Honest, trustworthy, fun.
Do you still live near where you grew up? Why or why not? Within the last year, my family and I moved back to my hometown and are in the process of building our forever home. I previously lived in River Falls, WI, Rochester and Stewartville, but there’s just something about that “small town” feel that we wanted to raise our family in. It also helps that we have friends and family in the area as well.
If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose? Phil Collen of Def Leppard. Can you picture me as a rock star? Yeah, me neither…but it would be cool!
