The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends consuming at least half of all the grains as whole grains. 1/2 cup steel cut oats
1/2 cup wheat berries
1/4 cup flax seed
5 cups water
1/2 cup brown rice
1/2 cup barley
1/4 cup Quinoa
Add grains and water to a pot and bring to a boil, reduce to simmer can cover. Partially cover with a lid, stirring occasionally. This recipe can be made ahead of time and re-heated. Suggest serving with fresh or defrosted frozen berries on top.
