Membership Cost

By The DAHLC

The Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center (DAHLC) encourages utilization of the Center. Members may earn one incentive visit per day by regularly visiting our facilities. The more you use the center, the less you will pay the next period. Incentive visits are re-assessed every three months and discounts are applied to the subsequent three-month period.

Payroll Deduction: Mayo employees with 0.5 FTE or greater may be eligible for payroll deduction each pay period. Spouses and Adult Dependents of this membership type can be deducted from the employee’s payroll. Everyone starts off paying $14.31/pay period for the first quarter (3 months). Discounts are applied based on facility utilization for the next quarter:

  • 0-14 visits = $14.31/pay period
  • 15-29 visits = $12/pay period
  • 30+ visits = $9.69/pay period

If Employee & Spouse join, both would have the same cost structure ($14.31/pay period/person).

Pre-pay: A three-month prepaid membership is available for those who are eligible for membership but are not 0.5 FTE or greater. Membership renewal is required to receive discounted rates. Everyone starts off paying $93 for the first three months. Discounts are applied based on facility utilization for the next three months’ payments:

  • 0-14 visits = $93/3 months
  • 15-29 visits = $78/3 months
  • 30+ visits = $63/3 months

If Employee & Spouse join, both would have the same cost structure ($93/3 months/person).

Effective January 1, 2020:

Payroll Deduction: Mayo employees with 0.5 FTE or greater may be eligible for payroll deduction each pay period. Spouses and Adult Dependents of this membership type can be deducted from the employee’s payroll. Everyone starts off paying $16.16/pay period for the first quarter (3 months). Discounts are applied based on facility utilization for the next quarter:

  • 0-14 visits = $16.16/pay period
  • 15-29 visits = $13.85/pay period
  • 30+ visits = $11.54/pay period

If Employee & Spouse join, both would have the same cost structure ($16.16/pay period/person).

Pre-pay: A three-month prepaid membership is available for those who are eligible for membership but are not 0.5 FTE or greater. Membership renewal is required to receive discounted rates. Everyone starts off paying $105 for the first three months. Discounts are applied based on facility utilization for the next three months’ payments:

  • 0-14 visits = $105/3 months
  • 15-29 visits = $90/3 months
  • 30+ visits = $75/3 months

If Employee & Spouse join, both would have the same cost structure ($105/3 months/person).

Thank you for the question! You should be eligible as a research fellow, but you can verify by calling or visiting the front desk of the Healthy Living Center (507-266-4688). From there, you can sign up for a membership. If you are eligible, your husband is able to join as well! Thanks!

Thanks for the response, Ashlie! Yes, Research Fellows are eligible for membership and payroll deduction if they’re .5 FTE or greater. Visiting Research Fellows are eligible but they must prepay. If your title is either a Research Trainee, Research Collaborator, or Research Affiliate then you would unfortunately not be eligible for membership. Thanks!

The earliest you can sign up, even for a 7 day free trial, would be the day of your orientation when you have your Mayo badge. Thanks!

Hi @cordes22 – In order to be a member you must meet our membership eligibility criteria, which you can find on our website under the "Membership" tab and "Become a Member". Unfortunately, grandchildren are not eligible for membership under our terms.

Thanks for inquiring though!

I’m a Mayo Clinic full-time employee and I was wondering if I get a membership, could I put my fiancé on my plan and pay the cost for both of us as deducted from my paycheck each period? Or does he need to be my husband to put him on my plan? Thank you!

Hi @m173287 – great question! Unfortunately, you will need to be legally married for your spouse to join as a member. Thank you!

Sounds good! Thank you for letting me know. So, he cannot join the gym then at all? Only Mayo employees, correct? Have a great day!

@m173287 that is correct. He can come in as your "guest" at any time, from now until you two are married. There is a $10 guest pass fee, or we have guest pass package options available for a discounted price. You can learn more about this at the front desk. Once you are married, he can become a member. Thanks!
