In a Yoga class you will move in and out of poses called asanas (ah-sah-nahs). Depending on the class type, you may move from pose to pose with each breath or you may hold the pose for several breaths. Poses are done standing, sitting, laying, and kneeling. Some poses challenge your balance, some your strength, and others your flexibility. Class ends with a short relaxation called savasana (shah-vah-sah-nah). This leaves the body and mind feeling rejuvenated.
A Yoga class will help you decrease stress and increase energy. Your strength and balance will improve as you continue to practice Yoga. And of course, you will gain flexibility both physically and mentally.
