Research-driven data set Mayo Clinic and the Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center (DAHLC) apart as leaders in health and well-being.  We continue to prove decreasing healthcare and institutional costs for those that utilize the DAHLC on a regular basis. 

We are seeking Research Volunteers for SMART: Stress Management & Resilience Training! This study assesses how the Stress Management and Resilience Training (SMART) impacts cardiovascular health.

To be eligible for this study, you must be:

  • DAHLC member
  • 18 or older
  • Registered for the SMART program – cohort 1 or cohort 2 (details below)
  • Committed to being in a cohort for a 34-week assessment consisting of questionnaires and 6 sessions of blood work, EndoPAT testing and mental stress protocol.

Study Details Cohort 1: May 15, 2019 to January 7, 2020

  • May 15 to Aug. 7, 2019 – Attend 13 weekly SMART sessions on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30p.m. at the DAHLC
  • May 15 to Sept. 4, 2019 - complete 3 questionnaires
  • May 15 to Sept. 4, 2019 - 3 blood draws and EndoPAT testing/mental stress protocol
  • Sept. 17 to Jan. 7, 2020 - 3 blood draws and EndoPAT testing/mental stress protocol.  The 3 appointments are approximately 2 hours each.
  • Remuneration: $50.00 if participant completes 6 blood draws and EndoPAT testing/mental stress protocol between May 15 and January 7, 2020.

Study Details Cohort 2:  September 17, 2019 to May 19, 2020

  • Sept. 17 to Dec. 10, 2019 – Attend 13 weekly SMART sessions on Tuesdays from 5:00 to 6:00p.m. at the DAHLC
  • Sept. 17 to Jan. 7, 2020- complete 3 questionnaires
  • Sept. 17 to Jan. 7, 2020- 3 blood draws and EndoPAT testing/mental stress protocol. The 3 appointments are approximately 2 hours each.
  • Jan. 28 to May 19, 2020 -  3 blood draws and EndoPAT testing/mental stress protocol

Remuneration: $50.00 if participant completes 6 blood draws and EndoPAT testing/mental stress protocal between Sept. 17 and May 19, 2020.
