Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique (AT) is a safe and effective method for improving posture, reducing stress and supporting optimal health. AT offers a gentle and sustainable counter-balance to the fast-paced world of stress, tension and strain. AT students learn how to recognize and prevent harmful habits, thereby restoring the natural poise, dynamic coordination, and overall uprightness of the whole body. Laurel brings AT to the DAHLC and Mayo Clinic through a variety of offerings. Laurel has studied the AT for over 20 years. She's ready to share her knowledge to help you achieve optimal health & wellness. Here are the different options available to you as a member:

DROP-IN AT: view our drop-in schedule and refine the category to Alexander Technique. These classes are free and held in the Mind/Body studio.

AT FOUNDATIONS: A 6-week foundational program open to all members. Specifically designed for members brand new to AT and looking to build a foundation for learning, understanding and practice.  Fee is $15.

ADVANCED AT PROGRAMA 6-week program designed for members with significant AT experience. Eligible students may register by instructor invitation only. Fee is $15.

PRIVATE AT: Private instruction is helpful for addressing specific mobility, flexibility and postural concerns, and is appropriate for members of all experience levels - from beginner to advanced. Private sessions are recorded in patient medical records, and are non-refundable, non-transferable. AT bundles do not expire.

  • $25 for 30-minute sessions (bundle of five for $112.50).
  • $50 for 60-minute sessions (bundle of five for $225).
  • $80 for 90-minute sessions.
