Nutrition Tip – Grains are good!

DAHLC recipes-spinach dipThere are many interesting whole grains available in most markets.  Grains are excellent fuel for our bodies and mind.  They are also great sources of fiber - both soluble and insoluble which are great for heart and digestive health.  Try a new whole grains, such as whole-grain barley, buckwheat, farro, and quinoa.  Mix any combination together like our DAHLC Center Cafe does for a tasty breakfast cereal or bed for your veggies.

Grains are easy to cook - usually one or 2 parts water to 1 part grain. However, if you want to see first hand how to add them to your diet, join a cooking class!
