Laurel Podulke-Smith, DAHLC Staff, presented a well-attended break-out session entitled, “Beat the Burnout Blues with Alexander Technique,” at the 62nd Annual American College of Sports Medicine meeting in San Diego this past May. This conference is attended by a wide variety of fitness, wellness, and health care professionals from around the country and world. Included was an overview of the Alexander Technique, as well as plenty of experiential movement and awareness activities.
Her key point was recognizing that poor posture is both a cause and symptom of burnout and worksite fatigue. This presentation opened numerous educational and referral opportunities for the practice. Check out what AT can do for you!
