What is the Alexander Technique?

DAHLC-8The Alexander Technique (AT) is a safe and effective method for improving posture, reducing stress and supporting optimal health. Human beings have a tendency to fall into habitual patterns of thought, perception, and posture. Over a lifetime, these habit patterns can cause tension and strain, and aches and pains throughout the body, often interfering with the body’s full height, optimal coordination and ability to move and breathe freely. Based on the body’s own restorative and self-healing abilities, AT offers a gentle and sustainable counter-balance to the fast-paced world of stress, tension and strain. AT students learn how to recognize and prevent harmful habits, thereby restoring the natural poise, dynamic coordination, and overall uprightness of the body.
