Habit 6: Try Something New

We are making the commitment to your personal health! Over the course of the next year, you will be introduced to 12 healthy habits. Some of these, you may already practice! Our goal is to help you gradually incorporate each habit into your life to reap the benefits. This month, "Try Something New" is Habit #6.

When was the last time you did something for the first time? According to Beth Riley, Director of the Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center, "We can only grow if we allow ourselves to be O.K. with awkwardness and discomfort. That growth starts when we believe in ourselves and our innate desire to feel good about who we are and how we navigate throughout our days. Exploring something new helps build knowledge and competence. New experiences foster discovery of novel things, meeting unique people, and acquiring different skills. Novelty is a powerful indicator to what we pay attention to in this world. We are built to ignore the things that don’t change from day to day. So, what are you waiting for? Be the architect of your future."

Life begins at the limits of your comfort zone – here are some opportunities to go beyond those limits.healthy band workout group
