What are the risks?

By The DAHLC

Because the scan uses low doses of radiation, some people may choose not to have it done. To limit exposure, an iDEXA scan is limited to once every 92 days.  At these low doses/exposures, experts agree that radiation isn’t a concern. Talk to your health care provider if you have questions or concerns about your exposure to x-ray radiation during the iDEXA scan.
